Bingo Slang
Bingo has been around and has been enjoyed by bingo players for literally centuries now.
Like most things that have been around for a long time, bingo has developed its own history, legends and language from all the events that have passed since it was first invented.
Now of course, online bingo is very popular amongst a younger generation who are discovering the rush of a win for themselves but the heritage and especially the terminology and slang used in bingo is still just as interesting as it was back in the day.
Although most of the slang was first spoken sometime ago, people still use the same language in bingo halls around the world as well as in the chat section in online bingo games.
Below are a selection of some of the most well used
bingo slang today:
Buy in- Means purchasing your bingo cards for the next game.
Postage stamp- A type of pattern on your bingo card that matches 4 numbers in a two by two square formation. To be a proper postage stamp it must be in one of the four corners of your bingo card.
Six pack- When you have a block of six numbers on one single bingo card.
Wrap up- The last bingo game of the session.
Case- Means that you are one number away from
bingo.
Bingo board- This is the board on which the bingo number being called is displayed. Some people also call it the display board.
There is some bingo slang that you wont see being used online, for example:
Admission packet- This is a bundle of tickets players must purchase to be allowed to play.
Early bird game- Is a pre-game that is played before the main
bingo game begins.
